Public transport strike in Munich: activists prevent bus drivers from departing
The initiative was not explicitly aimed at bus drivers who - partly because of a different contractual relationship - did not want to take part in the warning strike, the activists said, but was intended as "support for the strike".
After a few hours, the blockade of the buses was "self-determined" ended, according to the Instagram post of the anti-capitalist climate meeting.
On Thursday morning, MVG initially only put underground line 6 into operation every ten minutes, followed by tram line 20 at around 9 a.m. every 20 minutes.
As a result of the warning strike, many Munich residents switched to other means of transport.
An expert gave cyclists a clothing tip to take with them when temperatures were low.
“Must be better working conditions and higher wages”
"The strikes are important for all of us, because we need more staff for rapid expansion and reliable public transport services.
And in order to find that, there must be better working conditions and higher wages, ”positioned itself the anti-capitalist climate meeting, which also distributed photos of the action via Instagram.
