Freising

– The numbers are worrying: There have been 20 to 30 corona-positive patients in the Freising Clinic for weeks – some again in the intensive care unit (as of Thursday).

Is a spring wave rolling towards the district?

Is Corona coming back with a vengeance?

The family doctor spokesman in the district, Georg Miedl, gives the all-clear.

At best, it is an accumulation of cases that is due to the omission of all protective measures.

Serious illnesses are still the exception.

"Corona is of course still there," reports the general practitioner spokesman from his daily practice, "but it's only a small part of the many infection stories" that are currently circulating.

It is quite possible that the cases are now increasing somewhat with the steady omission of all preventive measures.

Of course, this is also reflected in the number of positive patients in the clinic.

There, however, Corona is usually only an incidental finding in the obligatory entrance test.

Only rarely would corona patients be hospitalized due to the severity of their illness.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

In his infection consultation hours, only “sporadic” corona cases surfaced.

However, the office hours are still “packed to the brim”.

Reason are all sorts of non-specific infectious diseases - colds across the vegetable garden.

The last step to normality

However, this is not a reportable disease such as corona or influenza.

By the way, she is slowly saying goodbye to Freising.

After a "maximum wave" in the 48th calendar week and a second peak at the end of January, the influenza is now on the wane - the curve is clearly pointing downwards.

The prospects are therefore promising that all cold viruses will thin out with the arrival of spring - and the entire district can catch its breath again after three years of Corona and a violent influenza winter.

The next and probably last step towards normality is the elimination of the mask requirement when entering medical facilities such as clinics or doctor's offices.

There, however, the Doctores, as hosts, can still order the mask to be worn.

Georg Miedl initially wants to keep the mask requirement “in a loose form”.

Patients who have cold symptoms in particular should still wear a mask.

Miedl also wants to keep his infection consultation hours.

The separation of the cold cases from the other patients has proven itself for both sides.
