Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, opening the meeting of foreign ministers of the Group of Twenty countries today in New Delhi, considered that multilateral institutions have failed to face the most pressing challenges in the world.
"The experience of the past few years, especially in terms of financial crisis, climate change, pandemic, terrorism and wars clearly shows that global governance has failed," Modi said in a recorded speech during the opening, according to Agence France-Presse.
He appealed to those gathered to do everything in their power to make the meeting a success, and said: "We should not allow issues that we cannot solve together to derail the path of those that we can solve."
