Thousands of people have been raging on Israel's streets for weeks against a judicial reform by the right-wing religious government.
During protests last Wednesday evening, demonstrators even targeted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife, Sara Netanyahu.
According to media reports, dozens of people besieged a hair salon in Tel Aviv where the woman had her hair done.
She was only able to leave the building after a police operation.
The demonstrators outside the salon chanted "shame, shame" but made no attempt to enter the building.
Hundreds of police officers were dispatched to the scene and eventually escorted Netanyahu to a limousine.
Dozens of police officers on duty
An employee at the salon told the Israeli news site Ynet that a customer had posted a selfie with Sara Netanyahu.
Hundreds of people appeared in front of the building within a few minutes.
Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded by dispatching dozens of officers to the salon, tweeting that he had instructed the police to "save their lives" from the protesters who "besieged" the salon.
Dozens of police officers, including mounted units, made their way through the demonstration to let a car pull up.
They then escorted Netanyahu out of the drawing room.
Prime Minister Netanyahu posted a photo on Thursday night in which he hugged his wife.
He wrote that "anarchy" had to stop.
"It can result in loss of life," he added.
Nationwide protests took place last Wednesday under the motto »Day of the Disorder«.
Demonstrators blocked motorways and train stations, and there were massive riots with the police in Tel Aviv.
The reason for the protests is a controversial judicial reform that is intended to restructure the country's judicial system and disempower the country's Supreme Court.
Like her husband, Sara Netanyahu is considered a controversial figure in Israel.
The Netanyahus are also accused of losing touch with ordinary Israelis and of living lavishly at the expense of taxpayers.
Last week, an Israeli parliamentary committee approved new funding for Netanyahu and his family.
