A No. 4 alarm fire broke out in Tsim Sha Tsui. At about 11:00 pm on March 2, flames burst out from the upper floors of the former Seaman’s Home site at No. 11 Middle Road, and the fire became more and more intense.

The reconstruction site at No. 11 Middle Road, Tsim Sha Tsui involved was the home of former sailors. The property was a reconstruction project of Empire Group under the businessman Guo Bingxiang. Guo Bingxiang won the bid in 2018. The multi-storey complex, the lower floors are used as the sailors' club, and the 9th floor and above are hotels, providing about 500 rooms and introducing the American Kimpton brand (KIMPTON) for operation.
The project was originally scheduled to be completed in 2023. However, Guo Bingxiang's second son, Guo Jihao, revealed in an interview with "Hong Kong 01" earlier that due to the epidemic situation, the project will not open until 2024.
Guo Jihao also pointed out that the former seaman was the first wholly-owned hotel project developed by the Imperial Group, and it will focus on young and business customers in the future. All rooms in the hotel can overlook the Victoria Harbour.
