The 18-year-old young man may drive without a driving license, but that does not prevent him from going up Boulevard Yves Farge at very high speed when a police crew spots him in the town of Vénissieux on Monday.
He then refuses to submit to the injunctions of the agents who want to control him, specifies the police.
And rushes at the wheel of his Clio, foot to the floor in the direction of the north.
Crews are called in as reinforcements to pursue the driver for several kilometres.
Arrived at avenue Berthelot, in Lyon, he voluntarily collided with a police vehicle;
once, then a second vehicle, before coming to a stop following the impact.
Among the occupants, the 18-year-old driver and a 22-year-old woman were arrested, not without difficulty.
The latter admitted the facts while in police custody and will be summoned in February 2024 in a plea-guilty procedure (CRPC).
The man who said he remembered nothing was imprisoned pending his immediate appearance before the Lyon court, scheduled for Tuesday and finally deferred.
