Romanian Prime Minister Nicolai Chuca showcased his "new honorary advisor" - an artificial intelligence assistant named "Ion", which he says is the first of its kind.
The assistant was developed by Romanian researchers and its main role will be to monitor social networks and inform the government "in real time about the suggestions and wishes of the Romanian citizens", Cuka said yesterday (Wednesday).
He added that the newest member of his entourage - a device in the form of a mirror - is "the first government adviser to use artificial intelligence".

"Hey, you gave me life, and my job now is to represent you, like a mirror," the counselor said in a calm voice during his launch.
"What would you like to know about Romania?"
Ion "will use technology and artificial intelligence to understand public opinion in the country through the use of "publicly accessible information on social networks," according to a government document. In addition,
Romanian citizens will be able to chat with Ion on the project website. "I believe that the use of artificial intelligence should be mandatory to improve the decision-making," Cuca said. Romania is one of the poorest countries in the European Union, but it is described as the "Silicon Valley" of Eastern Europe with a thriving high-tech sector.
