Faced with the harsh price increases registered in
beef
, greater than 20% in just
two months
, the Government launched a set of measures that try to alleviate the impact on the pocket.
These initiatives
have already entered into force
.
And among them, the
most striking
in terms of savings potential is a promotion that allows you to recover
35%
of what you spend at the butcher shop, with a savings cap of
$3,000 per purchase
.
This means that, for example, whoever wants to take full advantage of the benefit and buys merchandise for $8,600 will later receive a
refund of $3,000
that will lower the total expense to $5,600.
And this can be done
unlimited times
in the month.
The other side is that accessing this advantage
is not so easy
since it is only available on weekends, in
specific locations
, and it is a requirement to have a
Banco Nación
card (or get one for free from the BNA+ app).
A purchase of $8,600 at the butcher shop is $5,600 with the new benefit.

How the new Banco Nación discount works to buy meat
The 35% savings, active since February 25, will continue to be available at
participating butcher shops
throughout the country until March 31 inclusive, only on
Saturdays
and
Sundays
.
To have the discount, according to the public bank, you must pay with one of these means of payment:
Visa and Mastercard credit
cards ,
Mastercard debit
or -only for retirees-
Maestro debit
.
You can use the plastic in the traditional way or scan the
QR code
of the premises with the BNA+ application and choose one of those cards.
The
participating businesses
in each city can be found on the Banco Nación website (enter from here).
From the entity they indicated to
Clarín
that for example in the
AMBA
there are about
500 stores
, while in Córdoba there are more than 200, as in Santa Fe.
"The return or refund will be reflected as a
credit adjustment
in the account statement where the amount of the purchase is displayed or in up to two subsequent statements for credit and in the account associated with the card in up to
30 days
for debit" , clarified the entity.

With all debit cards, 10% savings in butcher shops
On the other hand, this Wednesday,
March 1,
the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) began to implement a 10% refund for consumers who pay in butcher shops throughout the country with debit, prepaid or account debit cards. through
QR codes
.
The benefit will be available
every day
until December 31, 2023 for clients of the
main banks
and
virtual wallets
, but it will allow to recover no more than
$2,000 per month
and
per person
.
Thus, whoever makes one or more debit meat purchases that add up to
$20,000 during the month
will be able to take full advantage of it : in this case, $2,000 will return to their account, reducing the amount paid for the merchandise to $18,000.
The refunds, which will be credited up to
96 hours after
each payment, can already be obtained in the more than
68,000 butcher shops
that appear in an official registry.
The list of venues and other details can be found at www.afip.gob.ar/reintegro.
In the supermarkets, cuts at a reduced price
Finally, since
February 17
, the official Fair Prices program added seven cuts of steer meat that must be offered
every day
in the country's main supermarkets at an
agreed economic price
.
The offer includes
roast at $1,035
a kilo,
buttock at $1,375
, matambre at $1,310, empty at $1,351, skirt at $675, shoulder
at $1,113
and roast cover at $1,035.
These values, as announced by the Secretary of Commerce, may not be modified until
March 31
.
And then, between April and the end of June, they can only rise at a rate of
3.2% per month
on average.
Achieving Fair Meat Price cuts could become increasingly difficult if
the gap
between set and market values continues to widen as
stock is limited
.
The suppliers -export firms- promised to deliver
15,000 tons per month
.
Consumers can try to find this merchandise in the supermarkets of
large chains
grouped in the Asociación Supermercados Unidos (ASU), such as Coto, Carrefour, Jumbo, Disco, Vea and Changomas.
Also in the super
regionals
that make up
the Argentine Chamber of Supermarkets (CAS) and the Argentine Federation of Supermarkets and Self-Services (FASA), as well as in some butcher shops adhered to the plan.
