Police officials last night (Wednesday) criticized the organization's activities in demonstrations across the country.
Several senior police officials told Josh Breiner in Haaretz that there was no need to use force against the protesters, and that this shows a loss of control: "Stun grenades are only used in extreme cases of severe violence by protesters against police forces. There was no trace of that at today's demonstration."
The source went on to explain that "stun grenades are a very violent and very dangerous weapon, and they are not used against protesters in the middle of Tel Aviv who at most block roads or breach barriers. In the situation as it was today, at the most they use YSM forces and Makht "Zit".
Another officer assumed that the Minister of National Security may have put pressure on the police.
"It is true that the protesters raised the bar today, but apparently the commissioner was under pressure from the minister - and the results on the ground," he said.

"The Commissioner understood the messages from the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir and tried to please him by using means that until now had not been used and that there was no need to use them," said a senior officer. It was the Commissioner who today gave the approval to use measures to disperse demonstrations.
After the demonstrations and arrests in Tel Aviv he said that "police officers were injured today as a result of the violence of the demonstrators".
As part of the "National Day of Disruption", which took place throughout the day, the protesters against the legal revolution blocked major roads throughout the country.
Dozens of people were arrested at various locations, most of them in Tel Aviv, where there were clashes between protesters and the police, who used stun grenades and used anti-aircraft guns against them.
