The trial of 16 defendants who denied the crime of conspiracy to subvert state power in the 47-person primary election case of the democrats continued this afternoon (2nd) in the West Kowloon Court (interim High Court).

Defendant Li Yuxin, who was injured in Muay Thai a few days ago, has appeared in court today.

The judge learned that Li had already been discharged from the hospital yesterday, and pointed out that if the barrister did not mention it in the application in court yesterday, or was involved in contempt of court, the defense claimed that he did not know that Li had been discharged from the hospital when he made the application.

In addition, the prosecution read out the fact that the prosecution and the defense agreed, and mentioned that the primary election was held as scheduled in July 2020. In this case, 42 defendants participated in the primary election, and 14 protesters held a press conference after the primary election results. .

The official said that if the lawyer knows that Li has been discharged from the hospital or is involved in contempt of court

The barrister representing Li Yuxin revealed that Li was discharged from the hospital at about 10 am yesterday morning.

Judge Li Yunteng pointed out that if the barrister told the court yesterday that he had learned that Li had been discharged from the hospital when Li was absent, it would constitute contempt of court, and he also pointed out that millions of public funds were wasted due to this situation.

The defense emphasized that they did not know about it when they made the application yesterday, and apologized for the incident on behalf of Li.

Many people from the protest faction held a press conference on July 15, 2020.
