This evening, a ship carrying relief aid provided by the Romanian people and the Syrian community in Romania arrived at the port of Tartous for those affected by the earthquake that struck the country on the sixth of last February.

The deputy head of the Executive Office in Tartous Governorate, Judge Hassan Naous, said in a statement to reporters after receiving the aid that the ship coming from a Romanian port to Syria carries on board aid consisting of foodstuffs, clothes, shoes, blankets and supplies for children.

Naous noted that it is the first time that a ship carrying aid comes to Syria from European ports, pointing out that this aid is provided by Romanian citizens and the Syrian community present in Romania, and it will be sent to the affected people in the governorates and regions that were affected by the earthquake.

In turn, the captain of the ship, Tawfiq Al-Sayed, said in a similar statement that this aid and humanitarian aid was loaded on board the ship Princess Mesa in the Romanian port of Glas in the middle of last month, heading to the port of Tartous, which consisted of various food and relief materials.
