Threat against Lionel Messi in Rosario: "We must use all forces to recover the city from drug control"

Patricia Bullrich claimed it after the attack on the Roccuzzo family supermarket. Larreta asked to "recover the street" with the Gendarmerie.

The attack against a supermarket belonging to the family of Antonela Roccuzzo in Rosario -with a threat to Lionel Messi and the mayor Pablo Javkin- aroused repudiation and an immediate political response.

From Together for Change, one of the first references to speak was Patricia Bullrich, who assured that the security forces must be used to recover the city, which for years has been affected by a wave of insecurity driven by the advance of drug trafficking .

"Two days ago I said it in Rosario: all forces must be used to recover the city from drug control. To think that some still refuse to do so," said the presidential candidate.

From the same political space, Horario Rodríguez Larreta also came out to ask to "recover the street."

"People in Rosario want and need to live in peace. My proposal is a National Government present and busy in recovering the street, with 3,000 gendarmes chasing the drug traffickers while the Armed Forces shield our borders," the Buenos Aires head of government tweeted.

The Secretary of Public Affairs of the City was another of those who also came out to ask for safety in the City, besieged by the violence of drug traffickers.

"You have to declare the security emergency in Rosario at once and support them with more federal forces. The only thing the government cannot do is continue treating Rosario as second-class citizens. There is a way, but it is by doing, not by talking." Waldo Wolff tweeted.

The worrying threat against the captain of the Argentine National Team comes the day after the National Security Minister, Aníbal Fernández, stated that Argentina has "lower standards" of insecurity.

"There is a crime that cannot be ignored, intentional homicide per 100 inhabitants per year, Argentina has around 4%, almost European rates, very low, we have improved it. We will continue to improve," he told the media before entering Congress to the opening of sessions.

When asked about the problem in Rosario, Minister Fernández replied that it is a "complicated" issue and that it is something that has been going on for twenty years.
