It is "
a historic contract
" that Transdev does not accept having missed.
In July 2022, the metropolis of Bordeaux formalized its decision to keep Keolis as concessionaire of the TBM network (Transports Bordeaux Métropole), for the period 2023-2030.
A juicy contract, which amounts to 2.2 billion euros.
But its competitor, Transdev, does not hear it that way and has initiated two appeals before the administrative court of Bordeaux, to challenge this decision.
A first file was filed by Transdev in October 2022, and a second in February 2023, confirms the administrative court of Bordeaux to
Figaro
.
"
They are still under investigation and no hearing date is yet scheduled to date
," said the court.
The examination of the file should take several months and the decision will probably not be rendered before 2024. By this legal means, the company hopes to lead to a new examination of the file, to try to obtain once again the concession of the service of public transport.
Transdev and Bordeaux Métropole did not wish to comment on this ongoing procedure.

Pending the court's decision, the contract between Keolis and Bordeaux Métropole has indeed begun to be executed from January 1, 2023. By the end of the year, several projects should be put in place : the extension of tram A to the airport, the commissioning of the new TBM network accompanied by a renewed application and price list, as well as the deployment of the first part of the future fleet of electrically assisted bicycles on a long-term loan (one year renewable).
