At least three people were killed and six others injured in a night strike on an apartment building in Zaporizhya, southern Ukraine, local authorities said Thursday (March 2).

In a statement, Ukrainian police said a Russian missile, "
according to preliminary information from an S-300 battery
", had destroyed more than 10 apartments in this building "
where people were sleeping peacefully
".
"
During the search operations, six injured people were taken out of the rubble, as well as the bodies of three people
," said the source.

An act of a “terrorist state”
Images, published by the Ukrainian emergency services, show residents being evacuated in the middle of the rubble, helped by firefighters.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denounced the act of a “
terrorist state that wants to make each of our days a day of terror
”.
“
But evil will not prevail in our land.
We will drive out all the occupants and they will answer for everything
,” he added, on Telegram.
This strike recalls a Russian bombardment in mid-January against an apartment building in Dnipro, a large city in central eastern Ukraine, which left 46 dead.
