European Union Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell warned that Western attempts to exclude Russia from the Group of Twenty would constitute a violation of the principle of multilateralism.
Sputnik quoted Borrell as saying at the Resina Dialogue Conference in the Indian capital, New Delhi: "You cannot say that you want to promote multilateralism and then ask Russia to leave the G-20... This is very contradictory."
Borrell added, “I think we have to keep talking and dialogue or at least listening to each other and telling the truth in the meetings of the Group of Twenty and the Group of Seven of the major industrialized countries. dialogue.”
The meeting of the G20 foreign ministers was held in New Delhi on the 1st and 2nd of this month, in the presence of the foreign ministers of the member states of the group, in addition to the ministers and international organizations invited by India, the organizing country in particular.
