The Ministry of Education announced today (Friday) that due to the security situation, the level of security will be increased during school trips to Jerusalem.
The decision was made at the end of a situation assessment and under the guidance of the police, and now an armed security guard will be required for every 50 participants in the trip.
In addition, it was decided that any trip to the capital would be required to be fully coordinated through the Bureau for Coordination of
Trips in the Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile, the security establishment continues even today to try to get its hands on the terrorist who murdered the Hillel Weigal Yaniv brothers near Hawara on Sunday.
Shortly after the attack, the IDF and the Israel Defense Forces set up roadblocks in Samaria to prevent him from escaping, but the armed terrorist escaped and has not been caught so far.
During the nights that have passed since then, many scans and operational actions were carried out to try and trace the terrorist's escape route and hiding place.
After four days, a situation assessment was held led by Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Chief of Staff Harzi Halevi, during which the hunt was officially transferred to the intelligence level, led by the Shin Bet.
"Whoever carried out the attack knew the area very well. He stood in ambush for a long time, carefully selected the vehicle and opened fire," a military official told Walla this evening.
"According to the speed with which he disappeared from the scene of the attack, he did not flee spontaneously - but also planned the escape route. Our assessment is that he received assistance and is hiding in Nablus."
14 people were murdered this month in attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.
Seven were murdered in the shooting attack that took place about a month ago in the Neve Ya'akov neighborhood in Jerusalem and three in a drive-by attack in the city's Ramot neighborhood, which happened about two weeks later.
Maj. Gen. Sergeant Asil Souaed was killed by a civilian security guard during an attack at the Shoafat checkpoint, while inspecting a bus, and the brothers Hillel Menachem Weigal Yaakov Yaniv were shot to death in Hawara.
Yesterday, a 27-year-old man was murdered in an attack on Route 90 near Jericho.
This is the 14th murder in a month in attacks in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.
