With a view to the planned six-lane expansion of the A94 between Markt Schwaben and Munich-Ostkreuz, residents from Angelrechting (municipality of Poing) attended talks in the state parliament.

Angelrechting/Munich – On weekdays, almost no morning goes by without a traffic jam report from the A94 motorway between Markt Schwaben and Munich-Ostkreuz.

After the opening of the Isental route, traffic increased.

The residents of Angelrechting, some of whom live less than 300 meters from the A94, feel this.

A good two years ago, some of them came together to form a kind of interest group to draw attention to the situation and, with a view to the planned six-lane expansion of the section between the Autobahn junction and Markt Schwaben, to demand the best possible noise protection measures.

The expansion is included in the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan 2030.

Poing: Discussions with free voters and the Autobahn Directorate

Through the mediation of Günter Scherzl, municipal and district councilor of the Free Voters Poing, local residents (including Brigitte Pfaffenstaller) have now met in the state parliament with members of the Free Voters and Michael Kordon.

He is head of the southern Bavaria branch of Autobahn GmbH.

In a conversation, the residents' representatives described their situation, backed up by noise measurements that were carried out over a longer period of time.

A number of violations have been identified here.

According to Scherzl, the Angelrechtingen hope that these results will flow into the plans for the six-lane expansion.

It was a constructive, good conversation with the branch manager of Autobahn GmbH, reports Günter Scherzl.

With the appointment, the topic was raised from the municipal level to the state level.

In a press release published by the parliamentary group of the Free Voters, their transport policy spokesman Manfred Eibl is quoted as saying: "The federal government is required to proactively involve local citizens and to take their knowledge into account in the upcoming plans." Residents of Angelrechting have already "provided good and well-founded preliminary work - this should be appreciated accordingly".

According to Eibl, the representatives of the Autobahn GmbH des Bundes have openly stated that the dialogue should be continued.

Demand for a whisper asphalt

Already in the summer of 2020, the CSU member of the state parliament Thomas Huber initiated a meeting between the mayors of Poing, Anzing, Forstinning, Markt Schwaben and Vaterstetten with representatives of the Southern Bavaria Motorway Directorate and the Rosenheim State Building Authority.

Here, the mayors had suggested, among other things, that noise and traffic pollution on the A94 be improved now (before the six-lane expansion).

For example, with a speed limit and the application of low-noise asphalt in the section between Markt Schwaben and Kreuz München-Ost.
