Elon Musk continues to believe in the future of humanoid robots.
A few months after the presentation of the Optimus android, the entrepreneur estimated, during the Tesla Investor Day 2023 in Austin (Texas), that robots could well, one day, outnumber humans on Earth.
The ratio "
could be greater than one to one
," he said, as Business Insider pointed out.
“
You could see both domestic and industrial use of these robots
,” also judged the businessman, praising the significant progress made by his teams in this area.
“What Tesla brings is real-world AI.
We are the most advanced in this field […].
I don't believe anyone can come close to what Tesla is doing" in this area, he noted.
The Tesla CEO's speech was supported by a video.
In the latter, we see his robot Optimus walking, grabbing a robotic arm, and unplugging a cable.
An important step forward compared to the past few months: in September 2022 during "Tesla AI Day", Tesla engineers had to carry the robot so that it could stand.
“
He obviously doesn't do parkour, but he walks around and we have several copies of Optimus
,” observed Elon Musk.
Last September, the richest man in the world was already prophesying a world where the brand would produce “
millions
” of its humanoid robots to “
transform civilization
” and build a “
future of abundance
”.
For the moment, no timetable has been revealed for the official launch of the Optimus.
Once finalized, the prototypes should initially be used in Tesla factories.
Maybe one day we will see them here.
