Flight attendants can't really complain about boredom: After all, passengers keep them busy with the craziest demands.

A refreshing drink, a pillow for a stiff neck or a warm blanket: these are all things that passengers regularly ask flight attendants for, and to which no one in the workforce would react with irritation.

But if you have a lot to do with people in your job, you will inevitably also witness strange inquiries.

The online portal

Travel+Leisure

has collected some of them.

Sushi burritos please!

Flight attendants are always amazed at meal requests

Depending on how long the flight lasts, hunger will also make itself felt.

However, some passengers seem to forget that an airplane is not a restaurant and that only a limited number of pre-cooked menus are available.

“One of my most frequent requests is for additional food and beverages – often more than what is offered on the plane.

It's not about extra snacks or drinks, it's about completely different meals or special orders that the airline doesn't offer," says Alison Meacham, a former flight attendant with the British airline Virgin Atlantic.

“Once a passenger asked me if I could make him sushi burritos.

That was definitely an odd request, but I respectfully declined it as it would be difficult

The next curious request also concerns the food on board - or the fact that a passenger wanted to bring it himself.

"The passenger asked if he could take a fish on board and have it cooked in the galley during the flight," former flight attendant Carly Campbell said, according to

.

"Obviously we had to turn down this request as cooking on board is not only against regulations but also dangerous due to the limited space and potential fire hazard."

According to Campbell, a passenger flying from Los Angeles to Tokyo also craved fresh food: he wanted to bring a live chicken on board to have fresh eggs for his breakfast.

“This too was a dangerous request that had to be refused.

It's interesting to see how some passengers go to great lengths to make their flights more comfortable and enjoyable - but safety must always come first."

Curious passenger demands: Parachute for emergencies

Understandably, many passengers feel a little nervous when flying – after all, you are at dizzying heights every day.

However, the increased need for security sometimes also leads to unusual requests: "One of the craziest requests I received was from a passenger who asked for an emergency parachute during the flight," said Luke Xavier, a former flight attendant with the US Air Force. Airline Delta, according to the post.

"Of course you can't grant such requests, but I tried to make the flight as pleasant as possible for my passengers by offering them free items."

Passenger cannot sleep because the machine is too loud

There is rarely complete silence on the plane – for example, because passengers are talking or walking up and down the aisle.

Sometimes, however, the noise of the plane itself is too much for the travelers: “Can the noise of the plane be reduced?

I can't sleep," Ben Whatman, who works as Air New Zealand's in-flight services manager, was once asked.

That is just one of many strange requests that he has experienced in his career so far.
