Achraf Hakimi, star of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the Moroccan team, was questioned on Thursday by police and placed under official investigation by an investigating judge, the Nanterre prosecutor's office told CNN on Friday. .
Hakimi is being investigated for the rape of a 24-year-old woman in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the outskirts of Paris, the prosecution added.
In addition, the soccer player is prohibited from contacting the woman, the prosecutor's office said.
CNN has contacted Hakimi and his legal representative for comment.
