After Omobi-Aus there is a lack of understanding in the Riegsee municipal council about the decision of the Murnau colleagues.

At the same time, the Riegsee elected representatives voted for the "Blue Country Bus".

Riegsee

– The Riegsee municipal council unanimously voted in favor of introducing an on-demand mobility service – in this case the “Blaues-Land-Bus”.

However, this is subject to the financial participation of the municipalities concerned, the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Weilheim-Schongau and the funding program "Mobility in rural areas".

A final decision on this will only be made after submission of the actual costs.

The offer, for which an initial term of four years is planned, is to be introduced in 2024.

Riegsee's mayor Jörg Steinleitner (WGR) and the committee did not agree with the decision recently made by the Murnau municipal council in a closed session to discontinue the call bus system Omobi as of June 30 of this year, especially since then until the introduction of the Blue Country Busses will create a gap of more than one year.

On February 23, the Riegsee municipal council approved an extension of bus operations by three years, i.e. until June 30, 2025. The Seehausen municipal council also agreed to this extension.

"The Mayor of Seehauser Markus Hörmann and I have spoken out in favor of letting Omobi continue," emphasized the head of the town hall.

Murnau's Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP/Citizens' Forum) also supports the project.

Hannes Wild is angry

Council member Hannes Wild (WGR) expressed his anger at the termination of this call bus at the Riegsee meeting on Wednesday: "I don't understand it.

The system works great and is a great benefit for our citizens.” In this context, Steinleitner appealed to the Murnau municipal council to meet again – this time publicly – to debate and vote on the topic.

“Because,” he pointed out, “the passengers are already here.

But if there is such a big gap, maybe we will lose it again.”

Steinleitner left no doubt about the great importance of the on-demand mobility offers, in this case the Blue Land bus, for his community: “We are expressing our interest in the project being further developed.

According to the present calculations and plans, we can only win.

We will pay less than we do now and get a better offer for it.” While the community has had to pay around 13,000 euros a year for the Omobi dial-a-bus system, this sum is expected to drop to around 4,000 euros with the Blue Land bus.

In addition, it is planned to significantly increase the service times compared to the past.

"The administration of the district office suggests integrating different service times into the tender in order to get a better estimate of the costs incurred.

The buses could be ordered on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Fridays from 10 p.m. to midnight, or alternatively from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

"The costs to be expected can only be finally determined when the tendering process has ended," said Riegsee's mayor.

A tariff has yet to be formed and approved by the government.

The "Blue Land", i.e. the area in which the bus is to operate, includes the merger of the municipalities of Riegsee, Seehausen, Murnau, Uffing, Großweil, Spatzenhausen, Schwaigen, Ohlstadt and Eglfing.

The latter municipality is in the Weilheim-Schongau district.
