The Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection stated that the citizen can buy 1 kg of onions, and his allocations are renewed every Saturday, i.e. 1 kg per card every week, and he can buy on any day of the week.
The ministry pointed out in a statement that a number of other materials will be presented in the same way, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
On the other hand, the imported onions arrived today at the vegetable and fruit centers in Al-Hal Market, affiliated to the Syrian Trade Corporation branch in Damascus.
The director of the institution’s branch in Damascus, Sami Halil, indicated in a statement to SANA that the material will be offered in the branch’s malls, halls, and outlets, starting tomorrow, Saturday, to be sold to citizens according to the electronic card, indicating that the quantity that arrived is 500 tons.
Yesterday, the Ministry asked the halls of the Syrian Trade Corporation to sell the imported onions for its benefit at a price of 6 thousand Syrian pounds per kilogram, according to the electronic card, regardless of whether it was subsidized or not, in order to prevent corruption and sell it to merchants and control its quantities in the markets again.
