More than 5,000 Americans have signed a petition calling for the Israeli occupation government minister, Bezalel Smotrich, to be banned from entering the United States, and to cancel his scheduled visit to Washington next week.
According to the Palestinian Wafa Agency, the petition states that not a week has passed since the Israeli occupation forces committed a massacre in Nablus, in which 11 Palestinians were killed, and more than 100 were wounded, so that Smotrich incited the erasure of the Palestinian village of Hawara, south of Nablus in the West Bank, from existence.
The petition referred to settlers' systematic attacks on Palestinian towns and villages, and the burning of homes in the villages of Hawara, Burin, and Za'tara, calling on the US State Department to take steps beyond merely condemning Smotrich's statements inciting the implementation of genocide against the Palestinians.
Smotrich's statements, in which he called for the eradication of the village of Hawara from existence, were met with widespread Palestinian rejection and international condemnation, as Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh confirmed that these racist statements alone are sufficient to bring Smotrich to international justice as an incitement to committing new massacres against the Palestinians, while Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the Palestinian Authority, said: UN Secretary-General: The statement made by Smotrich is provocative, inflammatory, unacceptable and inconsistent with UN resolutions.
