Every March 8, within the framework of International Women's Day, different activities are carried out in Argentina to make women's claims visible.

Although a good part of the calls are made by political movements and feminist spaces, there are also artistic and cultural initiatives that focus on the role of women in society.

The different events renew the claims against sexist violence and call for the expansion of civil rights.

This is the agenda of marches, artistic interventions and other programs for the week of 8M in the main cities of Argentina.

Marches and events for the 8M in the Federal Capital and province of Buenos Aires

The main concentration for March 8 in the city of Buenos Aires will take place from 4 pm, local time, at the intersection of Av. 9 de Julio and Av. de Mayo.

In the call, the Ni Una Menos collective stressed that "for the seventh consecutive year we meet again on the streets."

Once again, the march includes a nationwide strike, an initiative to which other political and trade union organizations tend to join.

Among the main issues of claim, the movement highlights "debt, precariousness and the lack of decent wages."

She also wonders “what happens when care tasks prevent us from working because we don't have someone to care for our children?”.

In the previous days, the Pan y Rosas group, of socialist feminism, and the Ni Una Menos collective called open assemblies to prepare the mobilizations.

For their part, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Women, Gender and Diversity presented the fourth edition of the cycle "We Move the World".

This year, the cycle proposes to celebrate 40 years of uninterrupted democracy in Argentina.

It includes artistic exhibitions, workshops, concerts and other activities that will first take place until March 10 at the Kirchner Cultural Center and in the Tecnópolis Park, to later extend to the entire country in federal days, on March 10 and 12.

President Alberto Fernández participated in the opening ceremony.

In a statement, she reiterated her "commitment to the fight against all forms of violence and discrimination based on gender."

Activities are also expected in the province of Buenos Aires, within the framework of the "We Transform" program of the local Ministry of Women.
