The inclusion school profile is to be introduced at the Marie-Pettenbeck School in Wartenberg.
As reported, some other schools in the district already have this title.
Headmaster Michael Braun received unanimous backing after his presentation from the municipal councils at whose meeting he had come.
Braun can now submit the corresponding application to the Ministry of Education.
The goal: If the school then has the “School Profile Inclusion” certificate, there are a number of advantages.
Wartenberg - The status enables a broader range of individual grants and support.
According to the ministry, profitable cooperation with surrounding schools also contributes to good social interaction.
As Braun explained, you could get an additional 23 special hours from the school board.
It is a mixed team of special needs teachers from the Katharina Fischer School in Erding and middle school teachers.
The educational institution currently has a half-time job for youth social work in elementary school and two half-time jobs in middle school.
Inclusion and integration of students with special needs is becoming increasingly important.
Braun also knows this about his school.
Inclusion is being considered as a further part of the Wartenberg school profile.
In any case, it is a compulsory task for all schools.
“A lot has developed” at middle school.
For example, there is now concentration and emotion training.
And at the elementary school, “the demand is also pretty high”.
However, according to Braun, the school lacked the means to meet this increased demand.
Braun reported on 63 elementary school students "who regularly go to youth social work".
That is almost a third of the 220 primary school students.
So the headmaster summed up: "The demand is very, very high." Also because the elementary school has a migration share of 30 percent, which of course means further integration effort.
As Braun went on to explain, his school is also behind clarifying disputes, which also requires a high degree of attention.
Here, too, it is hoped that additional hours will help.
Braun also reported on special seat cushions for children with ADHD, which would be provided by the school authorities or the Free State.
The Education and Culture Committee had already spoken out in favor of introducing the school profile, reported Mayor Christian Pröbst (CSU).
The market council now followed suit without any objection.
