Idlib-Sana
Rehabilitation work has begun for part of the Besida water station, which feeds the Maarat al-Numan area in the liberated countryside of Idlib.
The Director of the Public Institution for Drinking Water in Idlib, Eng. Muhammad Ajami, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the station is one of the most important and largest water stations in the liberated countryside of Idlib, and it contains 17 submersible wells, 4 of which will be equipped during this period, in addition to a horizontal pump with the installation of two electric generators. It has a capacity of 650 kVA.
Engineer Ajami added: The works will also include isolating the septic tank, rehabilitating the combined line, and installing all opening and closing valves on it. Thus, it will be possible to pump from the four wells and through the horizontal pump to the septic tank and then to the poultry house, whose safety was recently tested by the Public and Structural Safety Committee.
Engineer Ajami indicated that after the water is collected in the poultry tanks, it is opened to the water network lines by liquefaction to feed the city of Ma`arat al-Nu`man with drinking water, after which the water is tested to reach the city and its validity and safety is indicated by dividing it into rings and testing each of them separately and fixing them pointwise to serve The homes of the people returning to the city with drinking water.
Eng. Ajami explained that the cost of rehabilitating the Besida water station project amounts to 1.6 billion Syrian pounds, and it is a vital project implemented by the Military Construction Corporation with funding from the government and support from international organizations operating in Syria.
