France remains on the path of reindustrialisation.
Since 2017, more factories have been built each year than are closed.
“2022 records a very positive score, with 80 net creations, which corresponds to 150 openings and 70 closings”,
underlines the Trendeo firm.
This result is a real surprise.
Last year, there were fears of a collapse of French industry, hit hard by the energy crisis following the war in Ukraine.
France Industrie, the organization that brings together players in the sector, anticipated a recession of 10% over the last quarter.
This unexpected resilience has an explanation: decarbonization.
Many groups have committed to reducing their CO2 emissions.
And they are now implementing plans to achieve this, which leads them to invest.
They are all the more encouraged to do so since, in Europe, a carbon tax has been put in place and it costs more and more.
