Xue Jiajun, a fourth-year student of the Department of Biochemistry at Chinese University, is about to graduate, but he is preparing to interview two medical schools.
Four years ago in the DSE Diploma of Secondary School Examination, he was not admitted to the medical school because of a difference of 1 point. After entering the university, he was in the science school, but his heart was still in the medical school. Failed in the department, tried again in the second grade and was rejected.
Despite repeated trials and failures, Xue Jiajun still failed repeatedly. He insisted on studying medicine because of his two testimonies.
One of them was when his father had an unfortunate bacterial infection and his legs had to be amputated. Under the care of doctors and nurses, his father stayed in the hospital for about 10 months and was finally discharged. The other time was when he witnessed the medical staff rescue the patient who was "sprayed with blood".
He felt that "doctors are great" and determined to be a doctor, so he persevered in studying medicine.

Failed to apply for medical transfer in the first and second year of university
Xue Jiajun and another CUHK student Su Yongyin received this scholarship for the fourth consecutive year.
He aspired to become a doctor, but unfortunately he "missed" the DSE exam in 2019, with a total of 39 points in 7 subjects. With a difference of one point, he was not admitted to the medical school he wanted. Afterwards, he studied related biochemistry course.
He didn't fully accept it. He tried to apply for transfer to a doctor in the first grade but failed. He applied again in the second grade. Although he passed the test in all aspects, he still failed. He received a reply explaining that "everything has passed, but someone is better than you. , there are so few seats."
But he never gave up, "I can't find anything that makes me want to do more than medic!"

Father's Bacterial Infection Rescued Doctors Are Sharp
The voluntary insistence on studying and practicing medicine stems from an unfortunate bacterial infection of his father, which resulted in the amputation of both legs and the use of prosthetic limbs.
Xue Jiajun still remembers that his father received first aid and hospitalization in the hospital for about 9 to 10 months, and finally his father recovered, so he felt very lucky and felt that the doctors and nurses were very good.
In the beginning, it was because of my father, because I had a bacterial infection when I was about five years old, and I was in Yanji Tongbu Princess Margaret Hospital for emergency treatment. In the end, I lived there for about nine and ten months. Luckily, everything can be saved. At the beginning, I felt that doctors and nurses are very sharp. Because I can save my father, so I want to be a doctor.

Until the year when I finished the DSE exam in Form 6, when I was a volunteer at the United Hospital, I saw a patient "spraying blood". Doctors and nurses rushed in immediately and rescued the patient for more than an hour. I felt that these moments were "very shocking and sacred", The profession of a doctor is great, and he is more determined to practice medicine.
As soon as I entered, I saw him spraying blood, and then I felt so shocked, and then I saw some doctors and nurses rushed in to help her with first aid. After a few minutes of rescue, they all survived.
I think these moments are so shocking and sacred, and I want to be a doctor even more after following them.

Report to CUHK and HKU Faculty of Medicine to become a neurologist
Xue Jiajun devoted himself to practicing medicine and rarely participated in various activities.
I remember that during an interview to apply for Link’s university student scholarship, the resumes of several interviewees in the same group were very thick. Every time, I express my struggle to become a doctor.”
Xue Jiajun, who graduated this year, has already applied to the medical schools of the Chinese University and the University of Hong Kong. He hopes to continue pursuing his dream of being a doctor as a freshman in September and become a neurologist. He will not only practice medicine, but also do related research.
