Emilia Clarke did not expect to attract the wrath of Internet users by posting, on February 22, a simple natural selfie.
And yet, the hard law of social networks decided otherwise.
In this photo, the 36-year-old actress appears in close-up, without makeup (except for a little mascara on her eyelashes), and holds up a mug with the inscription "You're doing well".
“Mom gave me a cup.
I felt it was important to share this new wisdom.
Use it and reap the rewards,” she wrote to her 27.3 million subscribers.
So far, nothing out of the ordinary.
Except that this publication, certainly banal, attracted the attention of malicious Internet users (“haters”), who immediately hastened to publish derogatory comments, especially related to the appearance and age of the Briton.
“Mother of the dragons, what happened to you?”, quipped one of them, as noted by
The Daily Mirror
.
While other critics fuse: "What's going on with her hair?
They are worse than mine right now”;
'Big forehead and looks like she's 50 now';
"Daenerys Targaryen didn't just hit the wall, she rammed it full speed into a dragon," it read.

Wave of support
Fortunately, Emilia Clarke was able to count on the support of her many fans.
Most applauded the
Game of Thrones
star's gesture and hailed its authenticity.
"She is by far the most beautiful woman in Hollywood," says one of her loyal supporters.
Another adds: “My God, she is perfect.”
"You are beautiful, I'm so happy that you don't deny your age and that you don't look like all the actresses today...", writes one of them.
No need for surgery
In March 2021, in the pages of
Elle UK
, Emilia Clarke explained that getting older was not a problem for her: “At 34, I am wiser, smarter, I have had more experiences , I have done all these things and I am proud of it.
You can only do this because you are the age you are.
Time is the only thing that allows you to do these things.
So if my face is going to reflect my time on this Earth, I'm in for that."

The actress added that she did not want to give in to cosmetic surgery, or even aesthetic medicine for that matter.
“Once a facialist told me I needed to have injections.
I showed him the door.
I told him "get out".
His exact words were, "Then you can get your face back."
At that time, I was 28 years old”, she remembered then.
This has the merit of being clear.
