The Salta Justice confirmed that the lifeless body found with signs of violence, hands tied, gagged and half-naked near a garbage dump on the outskirts of the city of Salta was that of Alejandra Cardozo, a 26-year-old girl who had disappeared on
Thursday
. .
The body was found on Friday around noon by three scrap dealers in front of a sewage treatment plant in the San Javier Landfill,
a landfill located southwest of the capital of Salta
.
The three people reported it to a woman in the area, who was the one who called 911 to alert them to the discovery.
Alejandra's remains were buried this Sunday after a wake in the La Paz neighborhood, where the young woman lived with her family and her 4-year-old daughter.
Neighbors, friends and relatives listened to her demands for justice for the victim.
One of Alejandra's cousins put into words the suspicion that haunts the family: that
the young woman's boyfriend would be involved in the event

"This cannot remain like this. My little niece was left without her mother. Her partner had been threatening her with death. He used drugs and always threatened her, telling her that he was going to cut her face," said the victim's cousin.
Alejandra's father also asked for justice for his daughter and gave details of the last chat he had with her on WhatsApp the night of her disappearance, although he could not specify where he had communicated from.
"She worked in a

. I received the last audio when she told me she was getting off the bus, but she never got home," the father said, according to a local news site.
"There is a friend who said that he saw her for the last time with her boyfriend and greeted her. She returned the greeting and her partner reproached her for that: What do you say hello
to him? What is he, your male?
And then we said he hit her," the man added.
According to that same testimony, the young woman was last seen when
she got off the bus apparently accompanied by her partner
and there was no further news of her until her body was found lifeless.
Alejandra's relatives and the residents of the La Paz neighborhood decided
to call a march
for justice next Wednesday, March 8, the date on which International Women's Day is celebrated.
The prosecutor's office decreed secrecy about the actions carried out in the case and therefore the results of the autopsy performed on Alejandra's body were not made public, so the cause of death and other information on the profile of the perpetrators of the crime remain in reserve.
The criminal prosecutor of the Femicide Unit, Mónica Poma, intervened in the case.
