Iran has given guarantees to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which includes an agreement to cooperate in the investigation of uranium remnants found on its territory and even an agreement to reinstall cameras at its nuclear sites - the IAEA said, at the end of a visit by the agency's chairman, Raphael Grossi, to Tehran. The statement was published two days before the quarterly meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors, which includes 35 countries.
The joint statement did not elaborate on the details, but diplomatic sources said that the possible improvement in relations between the parties may delay another Western attempt to publish a resolution imploring Tehran to cooperate with the inspectors.
However, Iran has already made similar promises in the past, which ended up yielding very little, if anything.
