A number of Lebanese and foreign politicians and academics stressed during a seminar in Beirut today that the Russian military operation to protect the population of Donbass and confront neo-Nazism in Ukraine was a necessary step to stop Western fascism and to show the truth of the direct involvement of the United States in the Ukrainian crisis.
Brigadier General Mustafa Hamdan, the secretary of the leadership body in the Independent Nasserite Movement “al-Mourabitoun” said in the symposium held on the occasion of the one year anniversary of the operation: “The West’s use of Ukraine and its neo-Nazi terrorists made it an offensive platform against Russia,” noting that after a year had passed, the truth emerged through The cost of the war on the United States, NATO and Western countries has begun to exceed a trillion dollars, and this confirms the direct intervention of America and its followers.
For his part, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov said: The special military operation came as a forced response to the military expansion of NATO, explaining that the West is obstructing the development of Russia and other countries, and is working to use various methods, including encircling military bases, creating hotbeds of tension and blatant interference in affairs. interior and others.
Rudakov warned that the United States and its followers are intensifying the war against Russia, which puts the world on the verge of a direct military clash with the participation of nuclear powers, pointing out that Washington is studying the possibility of testing new nuclear weapons despite violating its obligations under the Strategic Offensive Reduction Treaty.
In turn, Venezuelan Ambassador Jesús Gonzalez renewed his country's stand with Russia in its endeavor to achieve and spread security and peace, pointing out that this war is a new type followed by NATO after World War II.
While the writer Hassan Hamadeh said: The policy pursued by the West is a sign of decadence and dissension, and what is happening today is a battle for justice between the pluralistic and democratic world and the unilateral world.
For her part, lawyer Bushra Al-Khalil referred to Russia's role in restructuring the international community on humanitarian, just and moral bases to restore balance to this world.
In a related context, the military strategic analyst, Brigadier General Charles Abi Nader, stressed that the Russian operation was necessary to confront the West, led by the United States, and that it is a global battle against the unipolar policy and to defend the national security of every country that is subject to pressures and attempts at hegemony.
In turn, university professor Jamal Wakim said: The importance of this war lies in confronting the policy of the West and the United States that relies on plunder, referring to Washington's attempts to steal Russia's wealth.
The journalist, Thuraya Assi, denounced the brutality of the United States, which is trying to devour the world, noting that Russia was and still is defending free and vulnerable peoples, as is the case in Syria, which was subjected to a terrorist war supported by the West.
