Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu replied: "There is no justification for taking advantage of the price increases before Passover", Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich added: "We will work together to prevent this."
Barkat added: "We have a plan in the Ministry of Economy that will open the market to free imports and introduce competition and international networks according to the outline that what is good in Europe is good in Israel. Unfortunately, too many offices and officials burden us with unreasonable bureaucracies. This is ridiculous. Instead of the government offices helping me in the process of lowering the cost of living , they only interfere and block. This is unacceptable. Prime Minister, we must deal with this. This is our election promise."
