The music school at the Würm starts to set up a support association.

It should bring money for the realization of new ideas and at the same time offer the school parents a platform that has not existed since the founding of the supporting association.

Planegg/Krailling

– The music school at the Würm should get a support association.

Fabian Bögelsack, who has been in charge of the facility since September 2021 and takes care of the Planegger and Kraillinger offspring, is in charge of the project.

"Our music school attaches great importance to high quality and would like to enable all children and young people to be able to participate in musical life," he says.

"We would like to constantly expand our offer." That is why we are looking for interested parties who can make new formats possible through membership fees and donations.

On Wednesday, March 15, you are invited to an information event at 6.30 p.m. in the concert hall of the music school at Pasinger Straße 16 in Planegg.

There they will learn more about the tasks, ideas and structure of the planned development association.

Benefit concert planned for early May

The next step will be the convening of a constituent founding meeting.

At the beginning of May, the association is to present itself as part of a benefit concert in the Kupferhaus.

The Planegger and Kraillinger are not the first in the Würmtal.

In the summer of 2018, the Friends of the Music School Association was founded in Neuried.

Around 20 music teachers work at the music school on the Würm, more than 1000 children and young people attend the lessons.

However, the income from the tuition fees is not sufficient to cover the operating costs.

More than half comes from public funds such as state and local grants.

Planegg and Krailling transfer around 400,000 euros a year.

“We are highly dependent on funding.

There is only a certain amount of leeway," says Philipp Pollems, chairman of the Musikschule an der Würm eV. Further financial resources are needed to expand the range of instruments, improve digital forms of teaching, enable instrumental lessons for the socially disadvantaged and design special concert formats , according to Bögelsack.

mouthpiece of the citizens

The head of the music school and the chairman of the sponsoring association see another advantage in the association in addition to the income: it should be the mouthpiece of the citizens, “in order to constantly improve the work of the music school in dialogue”, as Bögelsack says.

Parents could get involved in the organization.

Until the dissolution of the old sponsoring association Music School Planegg-Krailling eV and the founding of the successor Musikschule an der Würm eV last summer, anyone who wanted to could be a member of the sponsoring association and had voting rights there.

So it was possible to exert influence.

The new supporting association consists only of the eight founding members, including the mayors of Planegg, Hermann Nafziger, and Krailling, Rudolph Haux.

"This means that all school parents who have ideas no longer have a platform," says Pollems.

They could at least contribute suggestions to the new association.

As reported, the reorganization of the music school was preceded by months of disputes with the works council, which resulted in the municipalities withholding their subsidies.

The music school Planegg-Krailling eV had to file for bankruptcy in mid-July last year.

In August, the new sponsoring association was founded, whose management team around Pollems had already contributed to the old association.

Originally, only the sponsoring association with the music school in Würm eV was to be given a new name, but the institution would continue to be called the music school Planegg-Krailling.

This was not possible for legal reasons.

Since October last year, it has been operating under the Music School an der Würm.

The old nameplate on the building has already been removed, a new one is not yet hanging.
