A Miami Beach resident was arrested after being accused of drugging and sexually assaulting at least five women in his luxurious building, according to local NBC News in Miami.
Jeremy D. Bittner, 41,
was arrested Monday on various charges of
sexual assault, illegal imprisonment and possession of a controlled substance
in connection with allegations by three women, the cited outlet added.

In total, he has been charged with five counts of sexual assault and two more charges of illegal detention.

The first four rapes occurred at Bittner's luxurious West Avenue apartment in South Beach, while the fifth alleged victim, a 45-year-old woman, was drugged and assaulted by Bittner in her own condominium in October.
The woman assured that she met the man in the elevator of her building and that he told her, "Let's go party," according to the arrest report, the aforementioned media specified.
She didn't want to go to a party but she felt bad for him so she let him into her house, the newspaper added based on a report.

When she woke up, she

and he told her that he had given her a drug, GHB, according to the police report cited by NBC 6. He began to sexually assault her but she was unable to defend herself.
"GHB and its analogues are misused for their ability to increase libido, suggestibility, passivity, and cause amnesia (absence of memory for events under the influence of the substance), making victims vulnerable to sexual assault and other criminal acts," explains the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

she did not report it at first because she felt ashamed,
