By Efe.- The family of an undocumented mother, who is in a coma in a hospital in Allentown (Pennsylvania), has less than a week to transfer the woman to another medical center or else she will be sent to the Dominican Republic , warned community activists.

The woman, who has only been identified as SC, was admitted to the hospital on December 28 to undergo a "relatively simple" procedure to treat her aneurysm but the surgery was complicated and she was left in a coma.

The Free Migration Project explained on its campaign website that on Monday, February 28, the hospital informed the family of the woman, a

mother of two,

that she would be transported to the Dominican Republic on a private plane on Thursday, March 2.

After a protest last Wednesday, the hospital gave seven more days for the family to find a care center in the US where they can be treated.

"The hospital-imposed deadline is fast approaching and the hospital administration must commit to stopping the deportation and working with the family and advocates to save SC's life," the organization said on the campaign website, where it has asked community support.
