The workshops of the Directorate of Water Resources in Tartous Governorate have completed the necessary maintenance work for irrigation dams in the governorate, in preparation for the next irrigation season.
The Director of Water Resources, Eng. Muhammad Mahrez, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the maintenance work comes within the framework of the directorate’s annual plan and preparations for the next irrigation season, as the workshops inspected all dams and irrigation intakes, to maintain them and change any barriers and hoses that lead to improper performance during the season and prevent water from reaching the lands. agricultural.
In his turn, the maintenance engineer in the Directorate, Karim Al-Moawi, indicated that the repair operations included the maintenance of irrigation intakes, as in the Martyr Basil Al-Assad Dam, it was confirmed that the valve was tight, and the necessary treatments were carried out, such as welding, turning, leveling, and dismantling worn-out hoses and installing new hoses, explaining that these procedures are carried out by the Directorate every General for all governorate dams.
