Poing – It has a good tradition that the printing press manufacturer Canon (formerly Océ) is conducting a Christmas campaign in Poing.
Here employees can donate to a good cause in the village - this time to the Poinger Tafel.
1524.33 euros came together, reports Canon, the management has rounded the amount to 2000 euros.
The donation handover took place exactly on the day that the Poinger Tafel celebrated its 21st birthday.
The new site manager and managing director Johann Meyer presented the symbolic donation check to Christine Bloch, founder and manager of the Tafel.
Poing: Company honey
Every Wednesday, food is handed out to needy citizens in the Christ Church.
According to Bloch, there are more than 30 families (almost 100 people) who regularly take care of themselves there.
They have to prove their need and pay a symbolic amount of one euro.
Bloch and her around 50 volunteer employees, who work alternately and in different areas (sales, food collection, food distribution to people who are no longer mobile).
According to Bloch, the food donations come from Poing and the surrounding area.

As a thank you for a donation, Canon employees were allowed to take home a jar of their own honey.
There are apiaries on the company's green areas in Poing, and a beekeeper produces the company's own honey.
Canon employee Verena Schwenkreis was responsible for organizing the distribution of the honey jars, while Silke Schönberg coordinated the company's Christmas campaign.
