With the participation of thirty-five calligraphers from different age groups, the Directorate of Culture, the branch of the Arab Writers Union, and the Safsaf Al-Khabour Cultural Association held the fourth annual exhibition of Arabic calligraphy, in the exhibition hall in the cultural center in the city of Hasakah.

The exhibition included about forty-five paintings of works of art of Arabic calligraphy in its various schools, such as Naskh, Diwani, Kufic, Thuluth and Hadith calligraphy, in addition to a mixture of Arabic calligraphy and plastic art, with the distinguished participation of children and youth.

The Director of Culture, Abd al-Rahman al-Sayyid, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the exhibition comes within the framework of celebrating the Arab Day for the Arabic language, and it is the first activity implemented after the cessation of cultural activities during the past month, indicating that the exhibition mixed the artistic and aesthetic experience of many of the province’s calligraphers who highlighted the magnificence of Arabic calligraphy and the advantage of each school in it.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Safsaf Association, Ahmed Al-Hussein, stated that the participants in the annual exhibition of calligraphy presented through their works the techniques of calligraphy and art, and what distinguished it is the diversity of the ages of the participants who were keen to devote the values ​​of beauty to this calligraphy, which is one of the components of language, and the carrier of thought, creativity and beauty.

Calligrapher Aladdin Hassan pointed out that the annual exhibition of Arabic calligraphy took on a renewed character through participation in new works by many creative calligraphers.

The young man, Muhammad Abu Yarub, pointed out that his participation is his first in group exhibitions, and aims to get acquainted with calligraphy masters, learn from their experiences and develop his artistic experience.

As for the child, Jihad Farouk, he indicated that he participated in two paintings of modern calligraphy and the patch, and he seeks through participation to learn about other types of calligraphy and work on learning a number of them in the future.
