About two months ago, a 50-year-old man drowned in Eilat.
The man went fishing with his friend on the shores of Eilat, near the marina, when suddenly the boat began to fill with water.
The two tried to empty the water from the boat, and when they failed, they jumped out of it and started swimming towards the shore, which was about 400 meters away.
A few meters after they started swimming, the man said to his friend: "I'm running out of air."
The friend tried to pull him out of the water, and when he reached the dock he hurried to call for help.
The marine police arrived at the scene and towed the boat to shore and assisted in rescuing the man.
The MDA team that arrived at the scene performed CPR on the man, which eventually pronounced him dead. According to the medical officials, the death occurred as a result of a "medically related" incident.
