A man in his 30s was arrested today (Monday) on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman at her home in Or Akiva.
From a preliminary investigation it emerged that this is a man who lives near the young woman as part of a house arrest sentence he is serving.
According to the developments, the police will ask for an extension of his detention in court tomorrow.
The case began with a report to the police, who arrived at the young woman's home and arrested the suspect in the act, a resident of Taiba who lives nearby as part of a house arrest sentence.
At the same time, the young woman was accompanied to a medical center for tests as part of investigative operations.
In accordance with the developments tomorrow, the police will ask the Magistrate's Court in Hadera to extend the suspect's detention.

About two weeks ago, an indictment was filed against Barkhat Abu Essa, 22 years old from Tel Sheva, for raping a woman in her apartment at the beginning of last month.
He was charged with aggravated rape, child abuse and burglary.
The woman said that "I bit him, dragged couches and tried to confront him until I got to the point where he told me: 'If you don't keep quiet, I will kill you.' My fear was that he would kill my children and me - so I surrendered," she said.
