Aleppo, SANA- The Directorate of Education in Aleppo today launched a psychological and social support campaign for children affected by the earthquake

Today, the Directorate of Education in Aleppo launched a psychological and social support campaign for children affected by the earthquake.

The Director of School Health at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Hatoon Al-Tawashi, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the campaign, which started from Faisal Khashefa School in Tariq Al-Bab neighborhood, is directed to pupils and students who have returned to their schools in all the affected governorates. Help children to overcome the events of the past period.

Al-Tawashy talked about the implementation of school health and psychological counseling teams in response campaigns in Aleppo, Hama, Lattakia and Idlib, which included the formation of teams for mental health and primary health care, monitoring cases and providing them with treatment services through trained teams, through cooperation with the World Health Organization.

The Director of Education, Eng. Mostafa Abdel-Ghani, affirmed the Ministry's keenness to provide psychological and physical support to the pupils and students affected by the earthquake, pointing out that the Directorate sought through all its departments to remove the negative effects lingering in the minds of students and the severe trauma they suffered, and to provide psychological support to them and their families.

The director of Manara, the ambassador in the Syrian Trust for Development, Zina Qiblawi, explained that the role of the trust is evident in securing all the supplies and needs of the affected children, to provide psychological support for them, and to implement recreational activities and special attention for the careless who lost their families during the earthquake.

The head of the Research Department in Aleppo Education, Huda al-Hassan, stated that the psychological and social counseling teams in the department, which worked since the early days of the earthquake incident in the field of relief and psychological first aid, are currently working to provide psychological and social support to pupils and students within the campaign.

In turn, the Secretary of the Youth Branch in Aleppo, Muhammad Turki Diab, spoke about the importance of providing psychological and social support to students who constitute the real compass for reconstruction.

The head of the branch office of the Teachers Syndicate in Aleppo, Engineer Ahmed Shoman, explained the Syndicate's contribution to the campaign, by encouraging the return of students and teachers to their classes and schools, and following up the educational process to ensure the future of our country.

The secretary of the Aleppo branch of the Vanguards, Musa Al-Ahmad, pointed out the importance of the activities that will be implemented within the campaign, because they contribute to providing psychological support to the students, restoring their self-confidence in schools and shelters, and meeting with the students’ families.
