A Brazilian considered the biggest serial killer in his country after a hundred murders and who spent 42 years in prison died riddled with bullets near Sao Paulo, authorities announced on Monday.
An investigation was opened after his death on Sunday March 5 in Mogi das Cruzes, not far from the great metropolis.
"
The victim was hit by firearms and the suspects fled
," the Sao Paulo State Public Security Secretariat said in a statement.

“A fascination with people”
Pedro Rodrigues Filho, known as "
Pedrinho Matador
" (the little Pedro killer), 68, had told the story of his life to various media and in documentaries after his release from prison in 2018. He had started a career on Youtube in evoking his extraordinary life or by commenting on famous crimes and warning young people against crime.
On the Kwai short video platform, he had become a star, with more than 267,000 subscribers.
Criminologist and author of the book
Serial Killers: Made in Brazil
, Ilana Casoy, claimed that "
Pedrinho
" eliminated people he considered undesirable to society.
The expert said she was impressed by
the "joy, casualness and intelligence
" of the serial killer she had met.
