Drink to forget: these are the most recommended drinks for Purim Israel today

2023-03-06T11:30:59.153Z

In honor of Purim and the custom of drinking to the limit: we have collected for you some drinks saturated with alcohol, but light and happy • Happy Holidays!

The famous Jewish saying says that even drinking alcohol is a common denominator for all mankind - Gentiles drink to forget and Jews drink to remember.

This may be true, but there is one day in the year when we also drink in quantities to forget, as the Sage says: "Until there is no knowledge between cursed Haman and blessed Mordechai".

So, in honor of the happiest holiday there is, we have collected spirits saturated with alcohol, happy and colorful, but light and flowing, it's fun to drink more and more of them,

because especially on Purim we need our drinks to flow and go straight to the head, and with their kind help we won't be able to distinguish between the Jew's tyrant and the Jew's Mordecai.

The first one we chose comes from the best-selling Irish whiskey brand in the world, Jameson, which recently launched the Black Barrel in Israel.

The whiskey is aged in select sherry and bourbon barrels from the first fill.

The bourbon barrels have undergone a double burn to intensify the rich aromas and flavors of the whiskey, and they give it its unique character - sweet aromas and scents of milk jam, fudge and creamy toffee.

It has unique flavors of nuts, smooth vanilla sweetness and a warm and pleasant finish of toasted wood and refined vanilla.

Who would have thought Jameson could be like that!

Van Gogh Vodka - it seems that everyone knows the hit of every wedding and party, flavored Van Gogh Vodka, which comes from Holland and is made on a wheat basis.

The popular flavor offered by the brand is acai, and it is based on the acai fruit imported from Brazil, which, combined with blueberries, gives it its oval color and sweet and beloved taste.

It is perfect both as a base for cocktails and for sipping neat or on ice, and its colorfulness will only enhance your event.

The most Purim there is!

bright and light

Johnnie Walker, perhaps the largest whiskey house in the world, recently came out with a surprising drink - Johnnie Walker Blonde,

light and sweet, the creation of Dr. Emma Walker, the new master blender of the largest blending house in the world (and the first woman in the position). A lighter, lighter and sweeter whiskey developed for the benefit of new audiences who have not yet found whiskey to their taste. The blend consists of grain whiskey from the Cameron Bridge distillery; fruity single malts from the Cardo distillery; and single malts aged in new American oak barrels, which give delicate toffee flavors. The result: a golden and surprising distillate , full of delicate fruitiness, with a light sweetness and a strong vanilla finish, which is suitable for consumption neat as well as for mixing, and you can really sip more and more of it "until you don't know". And a great price! (NIS 99)

Arak Efrat

- Efrat Eyal is a senior in the Israeli music industry, and works with leading artists in the field (such as Noa Kirel, Harel Sekat, Danny Sanderson, and more).

The Corona period suddenly moved her from huge productions to isolated closure, and she became unemployed, which was "confusing, worrying and very frustrating".

According to her, "to maintain sanity" she started trying recipes and sending bottles of "isolation encouragement" to friends.

She says that with the return of the cultural events, "I would return to my house at night to fill bottles of lemon arak, and my friends would call to ask where I could get it. I decided not to give up on the baby I had, and I went on a search for a factory that would produce my arak - and also preserve the quality of the product and its taste. To a high-quality, family-run factory of amazing people in their hospitality, and they managed to come up with the best recipe with me."

Arak Efrata is smooth, sweet and approachable, with a moderate alcohol content (37.5%), and it was also joined by other drinks in lemon and passion fruit flavors, which are offered for the holiday in beautiful gift boxes - and the price goes smoothly.

Caramel sweetness

Glenfiddich American Oak, 12 years

- a unique product that was developed especially for the Israeli market, following the old polemic about whiskey kosher.

Some believe that in order for whiskey to be kosher, it cannot be aged in barrels where non-kosher wine was aged before it, and others claim that there is no such prohibition.

Glenfiddich, in collaboration with the Israeli "Hakarem" company, took care and released this single malt, which matured for 12 years in American barrels.

The result is heartwarming - the oak barrels give the whiskey a delicate sweetness of butter candy and caramel and of spices, the palate is particularly smooth and full of wood, dry spices and green apple peels, and it has a long and delicate finish.

magnificent!

Milk and Honey single malt, sherry casks, Element's series

- the Tel Aviv distillery, which recently won international recognition at the prestigious "World Whiskey Award, Icons of Whisky" competition in London, has released new and intriguing distillates.

We especially liked the single malt sherry, which won the competition in the category "single malt without age".

It was aged for about four years - 50% of it in ex-bourbon barrels and the other 50% in ex-sherry barrels, specially prepared for the distillery in Spain.

The nose has aromas of cherries, figs, raisins and plums.

Add to that a tight frame of wood and caramel sweetness.

The flavors are a direct continuation of the aroma - red fruits, a sweet-dry play, and the caramel flavors develop into dark chocolate and an elegant finish.

A step forward for the distillery.
