Great joy for the children: a festive Purim party for the children hospitalized in the children's wards at the Soroka Medical Center with the participation of Hapoel Be'er Sheva Dimona basketball players and volunteers from the ICL company

This week the lobby of the Saban Center for Pediatrics at the Soroka Medical Center was filled with light and joy.

The hospitalized children who arrived at the square were surprised to discover a festive Purim party led by a DJ who danced the attendees, a balloon craftsman, costume stands, make-up, and games set up for them by the employees of the ICL company together with the "Simcha for a Child" association.

The players of the "Hapoel ICL Be'er Sheva/Dimona" women's basketball team also joined the celebration with the children and families.

The actresses and volunteers toured the various children's wards to make happy those who, due to their medical condition, could not come to the main square.

The players and the volunteers handed out parcels that were collected and packed by the players of the team, the company's employees and the girls of the hot houses in Dimona that the ICL company adopts throughout the year.

The "Simcha Lied" association has been operating for almost 20 years and provides solutions throughout the country for children with chronic and genetic diseases, through activities in the branches, an array of personal mentoring and group meetings and also in hospitals throughout the country.

Ofri Heinish, Director of the Hospitals Department at Simcha Lilid: "We have been blessed with amazing partners in the form of ICL who work together with us and spread joy to the children throughout the year. I can say that the parties in the hospitals and especially here at the Soroka Hospital where many children from all over the Negev are hospitalized, allows us To disconnect the child from the atmosphere of the hospitalization, tests and treatments and transfer him to a different experience. In this way we get to create a different, more pleasant reality for the children, which makes the children forget the fact that they are going through a difficult period as part of their hospitalization."

Shani Friedman, the professional director of the girls' department and coach of the senior team: "It was very exciting to come with the players and see the light and smiles on the children's faces, I am happy about the cooperation with ICL which leads to meaningful and enjoyable community activities, and connects to the values on which the club is founded, we are already looking forward to the joint activities next."

Sharon Shochat, who coordinated the activity on behalf of the ICL company: "Such an event of a Purim party in which not only the employees of the ICL company participate, but all the factors in which the company invests and supports throughout the year, fills us with an enormous sense of pride. All the factors were harnessed to spread light and joy to the children and try to alleviate Even if only slightly the feelings that accompany the hospitalization period. We thank the Simcha Lied association and the players of the Hapoel ICL Be'er Sheva/Dimona women's basketball team for helping us make this day a day the children will remember."
