Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that strengthening relations with the countries of the Islamic world is one of the priorities of his country's foreign policy.
“Russia is the largest power, state and civilization in Eurasia, and it maintains good, sincere and mutually respectful relations with the countries of the Islamic world,” Lavrov was quoted by Tass news agency as saying during a meeting of the Russian and Islamic World Strategic Vision Group in Moscow.
Lavrov expressed his country's support, along with friends from Islamic countries, for the formation of a more just and democratic multipolar world order based on the principles of the United Nations Charter, and away from the extreme liberal values that the collective West imposes forcefully.
