One-way regulations are disregarded, and parking chaos regularly reigns in Art Nouveau Park Haar, which according to planning should remain as free of cars as possible.

Haar

– Parking chaos in the art nouveau park in Haar, cars are even parked in green areas, much to the annoyance of the residents.

They can hardly get through when guests of the small theater Haar and the neighboring restaurant Amici park their cars all over the place.

The municipality now wants to create order and get drivers to use the underground car park.

There would be enough places.

SPD parliamentary group leader Thomas Fäth had also taken up the topic by means of an emergency request in the municipal council.

Municipality wants to push through new traffic regulations decisively

The municipal administration is now providing information on all channels that the new traffic regulations for large parts of the Art Nouveau Park will come into force in the coming days.

This means that the existing signage in the Art Nouveau Park will be supplemented with traffic signs where necessary.

"The non-compliance, for example wrong and wild parking, can be punished with immediate effect," reports the municipality.

And wants to take various measures.

Reinforced controls

Employees of the municipal traffic control will patrol the art nouveau park more intensively.

More togetherness

The municipality of Haar wants to hold talks with the operators of the "Amici" restaurant and the small theater in Haar.

In addition, the operators should be asked to point out on their homepages, when making telephone reservations and when guests arrive at the bar and theater that the use of the parking garage is recommended in order to avoid possible fines and to protect local residents.

On the other hand, the possibility of making parking in the parking garage more attractive with vouchers will be discussed with the operators who do not yet offer this.

The underground car park is free for theatergoers anyway.

Increasing the attractiveness of the parking garage

The municipality of Haar will clarify with the operator of the underground car park in the Art Nouveau Park when the parking fees there can also be paid by EC card.

Currently, only cash payment is possible, which reduces the attractiveness.

More signs pointing to the parking garage

More signs pointing to the parking garage: In a discussion with the Oberbayerische Heimstätte, the municipality of Haar wants to work towards installing more and clearer signs.

Theater director Matthias Riedel-Rüppel is pushing for coherent signage

Matthias Riedel-Rüppel, director of the Little Theater Haar, has already commented on these messages on Facebook.

The parking problem cannot be solved with information on the website and print products alone.

"The path leads exclusively through the municipality via a coherent and comprehensible signage in the municipality!" So far, the underground car park has simply not been signposted in such a way that visitors to the Art Nouveau Park can find it.

Parking sign is misleading

A parking sign even refers to a public parking lot behind the theater – which doesn't even exist.

There are only five parking spaces for people with disabilities and three parking spaces for artists.

"Neither the Amici nor the Kleines Theater can take responsibility for the guests," explains the director.

If 360 guests are sitting in the theater and 120 in the Amici, the Art Nouveau Park suddenly has 480 more guests.

They have to go somewhere.

Justifiable anger from local residents

"However, in the evening we cushion the legitimate annoyance of the residents on our own," says Riedel-Rüppel.

"We're happy to help with a solution, and by the way, we've been asking for it again and again since the opening of the underground car park."
