The value of financial donations made by Tartous merchants and industrialists within two days amounted to one billion one hundred and fifty million Syrian pounds for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous, as part of the initiative launched by the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support homes in the two governorates.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mazen Hammad, stated that the initiative aims to support what it can support from the damaged buildings in the affected areas in the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous, and to return the people to their homes as soon as possible within studies and engineering supervision from the Engineers Syndicate and the relevant administrative units, out of its keenness To carry out its moral, humanitarian and patriotic duty

Towards the people affected by the earthquake, and to follow up the relief work that it carried out in the affected areas financially and in kind.

Hammad added: In order to implement the initiative, the Chamber’s management opened an account with the Islamic Bank in the name of the earthquake-damaged buildings initiative, number (221133), so that all donations would be deposited by the participants, and that any amount of it be moved by a decision of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

The head of the Chamber pointed out that all members of the Chamber and the various activities of Tartous were invited to actively contribute to it because its success will lead to the return of dozens of afflicted families to their homes at the required speed, noting that a technical team from the Chamber will, in cooperation with the Engineers and Municipalities Syndicate, make the necessary lists.

Determining the targeted buildings and the costs of supporting each of them, and then starting to support the most affected houses.

It is noteworthy that the initiative was launched yesterday and will continue for ten days.
