"The Biggest Loser" is about everything for the contestants.

But one of the challenges goes terribly wrong - and ends in screams of pain.

Naxos – Anyone who flies to the Greek island of Naxos for the Sat.1 show “Life made easy” dreams of great customer success and the coveted title of “Biggest Loser”.

But the way there is anything but easy and paved with tough challenges for which the candidates have to go beyond their limits.

In the latest episode, Pia's challenge ends with a medical emergency.

"She screamed like that": "Biggest Loser" candidate Pia collapses at Challenge

In the current "Biggest Loser" season, in which the toughest contestant of all time competes, the contestants fight for victory in two teams - Team Blue and Team Orange - and are supported by Dr.

Accompanied by Christine Theiss, Sigrid Illumaa and Ramin Abtin.

In the latest episode, the ambitious participants can look forward to a big bonus - for which, however, a round of sack throwing has to be played beforehand.

The first rounds go smoothly, but in the middle of the throw Pia suddenly collapses screaming and writhing in pain in the sand.

Immediately weight loss and coaches flock to the injured and are completely beside themselves with worry.

"And then Pia fell over, her leg just couldn't hold up any longer and of course I thought to myself, now it's over because she screamed so much," remembers nutrition expert Sigrid Ilumaa.

"We need a doctor, we need a doctor immediately," she calls out to the bystanders while kneeling next to the young woman.

Fast as lightning they rush Dr.

Christine Theiss and camp doctor Dr.

Jan Arndt to help and Pia has to be carried away on a stretcher.

"Fear for Pia was huge": Candidate has to go to the hospital for "The Biggest Loser".

After her fall, Pia is examined by the medical staff at the weight loss camp and has to be taken to the hospital for an MRI - bad news for the "Biggest Loser" contestant and her comrades.

"The fear for Pia was huge, because Pia is probably the one who complains the least in the camp," says teammate Torsten, dejected.

"Of course, there is always a certain risk of injury in sporting competitions, and we try to reduce that by taking all the precautionary measures that can be taken," explains Dr.

Christine Theiss.

"In this special case, Pia already had an old injury at this point in her knee and that's probably why the accident happened."

"The Biggest Loser": Internationally successful weight loss show

Like many similar TV formats, "The Biggest Loser" also comes from the USA.

The show has been running there since October 19, 2004 and has produced a number of successful offshoots worldwide.

International versions of the program were shown in European countries such as Portugal (“Peso Pesado”) and Spain (“La báscula”) as well as in China.

A celebrity version called "Big Stars – Celebrities absspeck", for which Sat.1 invited guests such as Iris Klein and Patricia Blanco, was never broadcast despite the completion of filming in 2013.

The fact that her adventure on the Greek island could be over is a heavy blow for Pia: "The pain was secondary, I just thought: That can't be true (...) that I have to get out of here now." Like it goes on for them, it all depends on the extent of their injury.

"When we have the MRI results, we can see whether the cruciate ligaments are still intact or whether one could have been completely torn," emphasizes Dr.

Jan Arndt.

"We'll see about that and then we'll decide together how to proceed."

After the shock of Pia's injury has worn off, the remaining "Biggest Loser" contenders get back to work - and with the help of Silke, who stands in for the injured, Team Orange manages to win.

Viewers can find out how things will continue for Pia and her competitors every Sunday at 5:30 p.m. on Sat.1.

Above all, the broadcast times of the new "Biggest Loser" season are met with criticism from the fans.
