Munich – Cabaret artist Maxi Schafroth has reacted calmly to criticism of his Lenten sermon.
For the most part, he would have received positive feedback, said Schafroth to the
Munich Merkur
.
When the first negative ones were there, he was almost a little happy.
"I would have been more surprised if there had been no criticism."
Schafroth reacts to criticism: "I'll say it with Habeck"
Schafroth says: "Anyone who criticizes shouldn't be upset that he is being criticized himself." The difference, however, is that he stands up and looks people in the eye.
Where Schafroth agrees with his critics: "It would have done a little less laughing."
At the same time, he asks for puppy protection: "It was only my second analogue sermon, and I'm still under 40, so at an age when you can't even become Prime Minister in Bavaria." Schafroth sees negative feedback as constructive criticism for them next Lenten sermon: “A lot of this is on my list for the coming year,” he says.
You have to have the guts to question yourself and not to accuse critics of bad intentions per se.
